Visitor's Center Kragujevac - Šumarice
Architecture Design of Visitor's Center for city of Kragujevac

The unusual hour-glass form of the Visitor's Center was derived for may competing factors of the site context. The facade facing the stadium (future national stadium) had to feel grand and monumental as not to be too dwarfed by the stadium, and had to be inviting as the building features a restaurant, a hotel with spa, a conference center, and a gallery. Yet, the facade facing the Šumarice Memorial Park and Museum must be almost invisible as a respect to the historical context. Therefore, the building rises from the ground, hiding its presence under a meadow of green, only to reveal itself to its visitor's arriving from the city center.
