Gallery Nikola Koka Jankovic - 'Living the Art'
Permanent Exhibit Design
The main idea was to find an appropriate measure of intervention in order to connect the two opposing authorial expressions - the traditional approach of the sculptor and the contemporary architectural expression. The basic reference is sought in the spatial characteristics and materialization of the building. Pedestal of building served as a platform on which the elements of the exhibition were placed according to a reference raster, building ambient, supported by a curatorial concept which gave priority to the theme over chronology, complementing the elements of architecture. The design of the exhibition consists of four formal-functional units. The white cubes are positioned along the perimeter of the space, while the pedestals with the supporting structure of glass are freely positioned along the longitudinal axis of the building, creating through the architecture of the exhibition a reinterpretation of the form of the building. A segmented glass display case is an imaginary end to the penetration of the glass cube of the building.
