Theoretical Design of Philology and Arts Faculty in Kragujevac

[The industrial complex of the Military-Technical Institute in Kragujevac, represents the most protected part of the urban industrial landscape, unique in its pioneering character of the enterprise (in historical, sociological, architectural and aesthetic terms). A complex of manufacturing and administrative buildings (about 50 buildings) was formed in the second half of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, with a visibly clear and noticeable evolution of the architectural idea. After World War II, it became a city in the city, a "forbidden city", which, after 2005, becomes publicly visible and recognizable, revealing its contents and valuable industrial heritage.]

The project of the Creative industry pavilion and the library with a gallery and amphitheater on Arsenal square, is the first phase of the preliminary design of the project of relocation of the Faculty of Philology and Art in the complex of the Military-Technical Institute. The project envisages two, in shape and dimensions, identical glass pavilions that are laid on the existing foundations of a demolished facility that used to be used for the promotion of industrial production.

They are located in the foreground position of the building that build the facilities of the former Machine Workshop and the "Stara Livnica" Museum, which form the square. In this way, the projected pavilions form a gate, emphasizing the main entrance to the complex. The pavilions have a multi functional purpose, adapted to different types of creativity and presentation in the field of applied and visual arts.

The library building with a large gallery and amphitheater was formed as an extension of the existing Machine Workshop. Set by the principle of unifying the forms applied to the pavilions within a single object, thus achieving unity in the formal, aesthetic and artistic treatment of the whole site.
